The Art of Being Thankful

Published by Stephanie Wilson, Lead Communications Associate

It’s the time of year when our thoughts go to thankfulness for our family, friends, and all we have received.

There is more to be thankful for than the things that money can buy. The intangible things are the ones that touch us the most.

We all get caught up in the commercialism of the season. Gifts of our time can show our thanks to our family and friends. Let your gatherings be your gift.

As we gather around the table for Thanksgiving, let’s see what we can do in our daily lives to give thanks. Being thankful is more about one day of the year. Random acts of kindness show our gratitude by giving back. Find a way each day to do something for others anonymously without expecting anything in return. Paying it forward in the coffee shop line is another way to express our thankfulness. A simple gesture like opening a door for a stranger or letting someone cut in front of you can go a long way.

We can be thankful every day and not just on Thanksgiving Day.
